ISO 50001

The British standard, BS EN 16001 / ISO 50001 (due for release in late 2010 or early 2011) helps businesses establish the systems and processes necessary to save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the systematic improvement of energy efficiency and its consumption. BS EN 16001 specifies the requirements for an energy management system to enable you to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and information about significant energy aspects. It applies organizations of all types and sizes and accommodates diverse geographical, cultural and social conditions and applies to all of the activities under the control of an organization.
